Floods in France have not stopped for 33 days, the territory in the south-west of the country with a total area of about 110 thousand hectares was under water. This was reported on February 17 by the France Info TV channel.

According to the newspaper, the cities located in the valleys of the Garonne, Loire and Charente rivers suffered the most. The highest red level of climate danger has been declared in the departments of Maine-et-Loire, as well as the Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne. Another 14 departments have the penultimate, orange, danger level.

The authorities continue to evacuate residents from flooded areas — more than 1.6 thousand people were forced to leave their homes.

According to the BFM TV channel in the Telegram channel, the preliminary damage from the disaster may reach € 3 billion.

About 850 thousand households on February 12 in the south-west of France were left without electricity due to storm Nils. It was clarified that an "orange" warning is in effect in 32 departments of the country.
