The unified system of social support for soldiers of the special military operation (SVO) and their family members created in Russia is unprecedented for the country. This was stated on February 17 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and chairman of the United Russia party, speaking to graduates of the Fundamentals of Russian Statehood course.

He added that from the first days of the special operation, the party launched a humanitarian mission that brought together those who wanted to help the front, and ensured the creation of a unified system of social support for military personnel and their families. According to him, since 2022, 154 special laws have been adopted on the participants of the special operation.

"This is an extremely important, I would even say, unprecedented story in our country," Medvedev stressed.

On the same day, the State Duma adopted a law on leave for veterans of their military without pay for up to 35 days. It was clarified that citizens who were sent to perform tasks during their military service and who have special merits, as well as a number of other categories of combat veterans, would be able to receive the right to such leave.
