More than 20 thousand units of public transport will be updated in Russia according to the programs of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation by 2030. The ministry announced this in its Telegram channel on February 17 following a meeting of the Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation on the "Efficient transport system".
As noted by the head of the Ministry of Transport Andrey Nikitin, the regions are being systematically supported. Preferential leasing is in effect through the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), and a program is envisaged to upgrade electric vehicles according to the concession model.
Last year, a new measure was introduced — direct subsidies to the regions, for which 1.6 thousand vehicles are planned to be delivered as early as 2026, the Ministry of Transport said.
According to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, by 2030 at least 85% of the public transport fleet should be in the standard, the ministry recalled.
Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that in Russia it was proposed to set the maximum allowable increase in taxi fares during periods of bad weather or emergencies. Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, addressed the initiative to the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
