Margarita Koroleva, a specialist in the field of nutrition, director of the Clinic of Aesthetic medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, pointed out the danger of using energy drinks.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, February 17, the expert explained that when using energy drinks, dopamine is released, the brain is activated and its activity increases, but the body's resources are limited.

According to her, constant artificial stimulation of brain structures leads to the depletion of internal reserves, which normally maintain working capacity in a natural way. This, as the specialist noted, can lead to depression and general exhaustion.

Koroleva added that energy drinks do not trigger the natural mechanisms of activity, but only create a temporary effect due to artificial effects, which does not benefit the body.

In November, therapist and gastroenterologist Tatiana Zaitseva warned about the risk of panic attacks in teenagers due to energy drinks. According to her, there is caffeine in energy drinks, which acts more aggressively than in coffee. After consuming energy drinks, sleep disorders, disruptions in the gastrointestinal tract, increased sweating and thirst are possible.
