A fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the Moscow district of Novogireevo. This was announced on February 17 by a source of Izvestia.
It is noted that the fire engulfed the apartment on the fourth floor of the house in the Floor passage. In the footage available to Izvestia, clouds of thick smoke can be seen billowing out of the open window. The flames charred the window frames and the neighboring balcony.

According to Izvestia, a kitten died in the fire. The 11-year-old son of the apartment owners called his parents for help right from the scene, as the door was closed from the outside and he could not get out.
The owners shared that the fire was caused by an old phone that was left on charge. There are a lot of books in the apartment, which accelerated the spread of the fire. The fire spread to the fifth and sixth floors.

During the rescue operation, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated 64 people up flights of stairs using special equipment. Two more people were rescued with the help of a car ladder.
