Kursk court extended the arrest of ex-Governor Smirnov for three months

A court in the Kursk region extended the arrest for three months of former governor Alexei Smirnov, who is accused of accepting bribes. This was reported on February 17 in the Joint Press Service of the judicial system of the region.

"The court considered the question of the measure of restraint for Alexey Smirnov, extending the latter's detention. Upon the application for a change of territorial jurisdiction, the court sends the materials of the criminal case to the judicial board of the first Cassation court of general jurisdiction for resolution," the press service said.
