When cleaning, hard brushes and strong chemicals may not remove stains, but fix them, damaging the surface. Dmitry Dubasov, Product Director of the HYUNDAI brand, and Vladimir Grigoriev, founder of the Grigoriev Cleans cleaning company, told Izvestia on February 18 how to use cleaning products correctly so as not to damage surfaces and achieve better results.

One of the most common mistakes when cleaning is the use of aggressive cleaning products or too hot water. Hard brushes and active chemicals often do not remove, but fix the stains, damaging the coating at the same time. So, Grigoriev recommended first testing any product on an inconspicuous area of the surface before starting a full-fledged cleaning.

To remove sticky and greasy traces from food or drinks, it is better to pre-soak the dirt with special compounds, then carefully remove it. Dishes with dried food residues should also be soaked before washing by hand or in the dishwasher to protect the interior of the appliance.

"If there is a sofa or chairs with textiles in the dining area and they have been contaminated, it is better to use microfiber cloth. If the stain is wet, blot it with a dry and clean cloth, then wipe the stain with a damp cleaning cloth from the edge to the center without pressure. If there is a removable seat on the chair, then it is better to treat the entire surface — this way you can avoid streaks," Grigoriev said.

In addition, he noted that wax stains on furniture or fabric can be easily removed with hot water. Wax residues can be removed from smooth surfaces by heating them with a hair dryer and wiping the surface.

In addition, when collecting light debris such as crumbs or tinsel, a vacuum cleaner with high suction power is considered the most effective tool. Thus, the use of maneuverable models with replaceable nozzles allows you to quickly clean even hard-to-reach places under furniture and along baseboards.

"For dry cleaning, it is important that the equipment is maneuverable and powerful enough. Vertical vacuum cleaners are well suited for this task.: they quickly collect light garbage, and also allow you to clean several rooms at once without unnecessary movements," Dubasov added.

According to him, you should not immediately turn on the vacuum cleaner on a sticky or greasy floor, even if the model has a wet cleaning function. In such cases, the technique may not remove, but spread the contamination with a thin film over the surface. You should always start working in such areas with manual cleaning with a cloth or sponge with a small amount of detergent, he concluded.

On September 9, Alexey Baichurin, the founder of the Allchemika brand of household chemicals, told how to make household cleaning safer. According to the expert, regular ventilation of rooms, the use of protective masks and gloves in contact with cleaning products help reduce the risk of allergic reactions.
