Altaagrosnab, worth over 10 billion rubles, was turned into state revenue
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has secured an appeal to the state revenue of the Altayagrosnab agricultural holding worth over 10 billion rubles, owned by the former head of the South Siberian Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor Andrey Frolov.
"The Novosibirsk Regional Court, on appeal from the Prosecutor General's Office, overturned the unjustified decision of the Zaeltsovsky District Court of Novosibirsk. Altaagrosnab agroholding, worth over 10 billion rubles, created by Andrey Frolov, the former head of the South Siberian Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, has been converted into state revenue," the agency's website says.
In addition, the court upheld an earlier decision to recover assets worth more than 460 million rubles from the ex-official and related persons. These include premium cars and luxury real estate located in Russia, Georgia, Turkey and Thailand.
"Judicial acts have entered into legal force, the actual transfer of property to the state is under the control of the Prosecutor General's Office," the department noted.
During the inspection, it was established that Frolov illegally combined public service with entrepreneurial activity. The income from the business allowed him to purchase expensive property and invest in the development of commercial structures. In order to hide the real financial situation and avoid declaration, the official issued assets to relatives and trusted persons.
The day before, it was reported that the Prosecutor General's Office (GP) had filed a lawsuit with the Kurchatov District Court of Chelyabinsk to turn all of Semenov's property into state revenue. The official used his corrupt income to purchase six apartments, three residential buildings, 18 land plots, 12 non-residential buildings with a total area of 25,000 square meters in Moscow, the Moscow and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as 17 cars.
