The command of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) does not allow units in the Kupyansk direction to withdraw because of the "victorious" reports. This was announced on February 17 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The brigade command, which has become hostage to its "victorious" reports on allegedly successful actions in the Kupyansk direction, simply does not allow them to move away from their positions," the ministry said in a statement.
