Cargo exports through the Baltic are on the verge of being halted due to the difficult ice conditions in the Gulf of Finland. This was reported on February 17 by the newspaper Kommersant, citing letters from companies and industry associations.
"Difficult ice conditions in the Gulf of Finland <...> paralyzed exports through the Baltic. <...> Ice conditions in the Gulf of Finland exceeded the expected ice thickness," the article says.
