A minor passenger of a car was killed in an accident in Krasnoyarsk. The 18-year-old driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. This was reported on February 17 in the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

"The young man did not have a driver's license and had never been trained to drive, and the car belongs to his parents," according to a posting on the Telegram channel.

It is specified that on the night of February 14, at 60 years of Formation of the USSR, a car tried to escape from the State Traffic Inspectorate, moving at excessive speed, after which the driver lost control and crashed into an electric pole.

The ministry noted that the investigative authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person) with a maximum penalty of up to 12 years in prison.

Earlier, on February 15, it was reported that in St. Petersburg, a car driver crashed into the fence of a Summer garden while trying to escape from the police, as a result of the incident, four people were hospitalized. It was clarified that the driver himself was not injured in the accident, but four of his passengers, aged 18 and 19, including a 16-year-old girl, suffered moderate injuries and were hospitalized.
