The State Duma announced a fine for a hogweed on the site.
In Russia, from March 1, land owners may face a fine of up to 700 thousand rubles for failure to comply with obligations to combat hogweed and other dangerous types of invasive (alien) plants. This was announced on February 17 by Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
"In Russia, from March 1, land owners, regardless of the type and category of land, will be required to combat hogweed and other invasive plants. Failure to comply with these obligations, according to Article 8.7 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, will result in a fine commensurate with the fine for failure by owners of agricultural land to take measures to protect them from overgrowth by trees, shrubs and weeds," RIA Novosti reports.
