The British police have set up a team to investigate allegations against the brother of King Charles III, former British Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the country's former ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson. This was reported on February 16 by The Telegraph newspaper.

"Police chiefs have joined forces to strengthen the investigations of Lord Mandelson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. At least three units are currently evaluating the allegations related to the latest release of Epstein's files, and the new unit will ensure a consistent approach during the investigation," the publication said.

It is noted that the charges relate to both abuse of official authority and trafficking in persons for further sexual acts.

At the same time, the group is not conducting an independent investigation. Rather, she will become an assistant in the work of UK law enforcement agencies.

"The group includes police experts on sexual crimes, and is believed to be headed by Gold Commander Louise Rolfe, formerly an assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police," the publication noted.
