The United Engine Corporation UEC has developed a modern piston engine M105, designed for light civil aircraft and helicopters. This was announced on February 16 by the Rostec press service in its official Telegram channel.

The new unit is designed to replace its foreign counterparts in the domestic market. It is noted that it has a capacity of 115 hp with a weight of only 75 kg. The engine displacement is 1211 cc. Due to its compact dimensions, the M105 is highly versatile: it can be used for driving, pulling or pushing screws, electric generators, as well as for transmitting generated thrust.

Several modifications are provided for the needs of small aircraft. In particular, the M105B version is designed specifically for installation on light helicopters and gyroplanes.

The state corporation emphasizes that the technical characteristics of the M105 allow it to successfully compete with foreign developments.

Russian developers from the Advanced Engineering School of the Southern Federal University (SFU) said on February 12 that they had created a correlation-extreme navigation system for drones. It was stated that the device will be designed, in particular, for severe weather conditions, where there is no satellite signal or it is unstable. The expert also noted that the developers focus on conditions without communication, without navigation, on vision and AI systems.
