Annual inflation in Estonia in December 2025 was 3.7%. This was reported on February 16 by ERR with reference to preliminary data from the statistical service of the European Union, Eurostat.

In terms of the largest indicator, the country ranked second among the eurozone countries.

Slovakia became the leader in inflation with an indicator of 3.9%, while the lowest level was recorded in France — only 0.4%. In January 2026, the average inflation rate in the eurozone dropped to 1.7% after 2% in December, but Estonia was again in second place in terms of the highest indicator.

It is specified that prices in Estonia continue to rise. At the beginning of this year, the exchange price of electricity reached an "extraordinary level," which led to a 22.2% increase in the electricity price index compared to December.

Food products rose in price by 2.3%, while vegetables made the largest contribution to the price increase with an increase of 11.1%, as well as meat and meat products — by 2%. Alcoholic beverages rose in price by 5.3% due to the end of January discounts and an increase in excise taxes.

In Italy, in November 2025, the cost of food has increased by almost 25% since the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions.It was noted that the growth affected not only food: energy prices rose by 76%.
