Russian President Vladimir Putin has expelled Sergei Ivanov from the Russian Security Council. This became known on February 16 from the decree of the head of state, which was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To make it a member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.... a change, excluding S. B. Ivanov from it," the document says.

Earlier it became known about Ivanov's dismissal from the post of special representative of the president. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke about the reason for Ivanov's departure. It turned out that Ivanov himself wanted to leave the post of special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental protection, ecology and transport, so Putin dismissed Ivanov from the post of special representative of the President on environmental protection, ecology and transport.
