Odintsovo City Court sentenced the smugglers who disguised 312 kg of cocaine as food to 12 years in a high-security penal colony. This was reported to Izvestia in court on February 16.

According to investigators, two foreigners arrived in Moscow to organize a smuggling channel. An unknown organizer handed them 312 kg of narcotic substances, which the men hid in cardboard boxes and hoped to smuggle in a van disguised as groceries.

It is specified that the attackers intended to take cocaine in transit through Belarus to Moldova, but they were detained by FSB officers in the Smolensk region. The defendants confessed, but partially admitted their guilt in court.

On January 13, the FSB Directorate for the DPR suppressed the activities of a criminal group distributing drugs in the republic. So, 25 Russian citizens were detained who were engaged in the supply, packaging and distribution of drugs by hiding bookmarks.
