Yefimov went off the track in his first slalom attempt at the 2026 Olympics
Russian alpine skier Semyon Efimov failed to finish in the slalom on February 16 at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.
Qualifying took place in conditions of heavy snowfall, so Yefimov started moving slowly. The chosen tactics allowed him to successfully complete the first sector of the race, but then the athlete hit the gate, after which he fell and finished his performance ahead of schedule, adds "Газета.Ru ".
About 20 participants also did not reach the finish line. In the elite group, only 11 of the 30 athletes completed the race, including Lucas Pinheiro Broten, the champion of the 2026 Games in giant slalom, competing for Brazil, who fell while passing the track.
On the same day, Russian short-track skater Alyona Krylova reached the semifinals at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan, despite falling. The judges reviewed the episode and decided that a violation had been committed against her.
