A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. As a result of decisive actions, units of the North group of forces liberated the village of Pokrovka in the Sumy region. Formations of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Grafskoye, Andreevka and Miropole in the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv region, units of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Kazachya Lopan, Liptsy and Tokarevka in the Kharkiv region. "The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to over 170 military personnel, 18 vehicles, four material depots and three ammunition depots," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

As a result of active actions, the fighters of the "Southern" group of forces liberated the settlement of Minkovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. Formations of three mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Reznikovka, Nikiforovka, Konstantinovka and Kramatorsk of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy lost over 175 soldiers, a tank, six armored combat vehicles, 15 pickup trucks and an artillery piece. Two warehouses of material assets were destroyed.

The group of troops "Center" has improved the tactical situation. The manpower and equipment of four mechanized, two jaeger, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Novopavlovka, Dnipropetrovsk region, Grishino, Maryevka, Svetloye, Belitskoye, Toretskoye, Sergeyevka and New Donbass of the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 300 soldiers, six armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles and an artillery piece.

The units of the Dnepr group of forces have improved their tactical situation. The manpower and equipment of the mechanized and mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Veselyanka, Grigorovka and Orekhov, Zaporizhia region. Up to 20 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three armored combat vehicles, 11 vehicles, two electronic warfare stations, a material depot and an ammunition depot were destroyed.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, storage and launch sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 152 areas. In turn, air defense systems shot down eight HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the United States and 345 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 114,642 UAVs, 650 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27,726 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,664 multiple rocket launchers, 33,313 field artillery and mortars, 54,532 pieces of special vehicles.
