The State Duma predicted a tragedy due to Europe's policy towards LGBT people
The policy of European countries on gender reassignment and the expansion of transgender rights (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) can lead to a great tragedy. This opinion was expressed on February 16 by the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to him, in October 2025, the European Commission presented a strategy providing for the abolition of age restrictions and medical requirements for gender reassignment. The politician drew attention to the fact that in almost 20 European countries such restrictions are already absent or minimized.
"This could end tragically," Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.
He also said that the issue of whether only biological women can bear and give birth to children was recently discussed in the European Parliament. According to the chairman of the State Duma, the results of the vote indicate degradation and show that the majority of deputies recognize the possibility of pregnancy not only for women, but also for men, meaning the recognition of transgender women as women and granting them equal rights.
In addition, Volodin claims that a step towards moral decay has been taken in the UK. He referred to the recommendations for schools, according to which teachers are instructed to address children from the age of four in accordance with their gender identity.
"This policy of European countries will continue as long as current politicians are in power, who consolidate their plans to further transform people into surrogates through regulations and laws," Volodin concluded.
On October 31, Slovak Minister of Justice Boris Susko made a proposal to annul marriages if one of the spouses changed their gender. The ministry explained that the creators of the current legislation of 1964 could not provide for the possibility of gender reassignment, so this issue had not previously been regulated.
As it became known on the same day, the Dutch authorities are considering the possibility of initiating a procedure to deprive Slovakia of the right to vote in the European Union after introducing a provision in the Constitution recognizing only two genders — male and female.
