The first patient admitted to Domodedovo hospital with a diagnosis of monkeypox was discharged after recovery. This was reported on February 15 at the medical institution.

"The first patient, who was hospitalized in early February, was discharged with recovery," the hospital said in a Telegram channel message.

Earlier, three patients with a confirmed diagnosis were taken to a hospital in the Moscow region. Currently, two people with clinical manifestations of the disease are continuing treatment in the infectious diseases department. The situation is being monitored by the Rospotrebnadzor service.

The day before, it was reported that the number of patients with monkey pox who are being treated at the Domodedovo hospital has increased to three. The condition of all patients is assessed as satisfactory. The confirmation of monkey pox in one of the patients admitted to Domodedovo hospital became known on February 1. The next day, Rospotrebnadzor announced the identification of people who had been in contact with the sick man. Those found were placed in isolation mode.

Candidate of Medical Sciences, Director of the Scientific Research Center for the Prevention and treatment of viral infections, Georgy Vikulov, in an interview with Izvestia, listed the symptoms that precede the main signs of this disease. He attributed them to headache and muscle pain and enlargement of regional lymph nodes. On February 4, Galina Companets, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the FEFU Department of Fundamental Medicine, called an outbreak of smallpox in Russia unlikely.
