On February 15, US President Donald Trump announced that the Peace Council plans to announce the allocation of more than $5 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza.
"We will announce that Member states have pledged over $5 billion for humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Gaza," he said in a statement on Truth Social.
The US President added that representatives of the Peace Council also intend to send thousands of staff to support the international stabilization force and local police in ensuring the safety of Gazans.
The Reuters news agency learned a day earlier that the White House administration plans to present a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip at the first meeting of the Peace Council, which will be held on February 19.
On January 22, Trump, taking part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, signed the charter of the "Peace Council" to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. A day earlier, he also announced that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Peace Council. He stressed that the purpose of the organization is to bring together all the influential leaders of the world to jointly discuss global issues.
