China's position on resolving the conflict in Ukraine has changed. This was reported on February 14 by Bloomberg, citing Western sources.

According to the agency, if in the early stages China was concerned about the economic consequences of the conflict, now the country sees the situation differently. This is also due to the fact that Europe's attention is focused on Ukraine and diverted from Asia.

At the same time, as Bloomberg pointed out, Chinese President Xi Jinping has become much more confident in supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Ukrainian issue. In addition, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi once again confirmed his country's position on Ukraine, saying that China is not a party directly involved in the Ukrainian crisis. At the same time, he noted that China fully supports the peace process.

It is noted that this casts doubt on the efforts of Western leaders to improve relations with China.

Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China supports the fact that Europe has started a dialogue with Russia on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, but now the EU needs to present its own ideas and plans for solving the crisis. He clarified that it is necessary to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and ensure lasting peace and stability in Europe. The diplomat also noted that China is not a direct party to the conflict.

At the same time, the US Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said that China was able to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
