Investigators have opened a criminal case after the death of two children in a snowfall in the village of Sylva in the Shalinsky district of the Sverdlovsk region. This was reported on February 15 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (SU IC) in the region.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two persons")," the message says.
The ministry clarified that the investigation is establishing the causes of the tragedy, as well as officials responsible for the safety of citizens in the open area.
The fact that two children died in the snowfall became known earlier that day. It was noted that the children went for a tube ride down the hill, but when rolling down, snow fell off the slide, as a result of which the teenagers were covered. Later, a neighbor discovered tubing next to the slide, the children were in the snow.
