The North Atlantic Alliance is capable of winning a possible direct conflict with Russia. This was announced on February 15 by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Munich Security Conference.

"We will win any battle with Russia if they attack us now," he was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.

According to the Secretary General, the alliance is supposedly "strong enough that the Russian Federation would not try to attack it."

On February 9, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko noted that the militarization of NATO countries is inextricably linked to the demonization of Russia's image. In his opinion, anti-Russian rhetoric is used by Western elites as a universal justification for internal problems.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia would give a full-fledged military response with all available means in the event of an attack from Europe.

Last December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia's security interests had been neglected and Western countries were constantly creating an image of Russia as an enemy in order to distract attention from their own mistakes. A month earlier, the Russian leader said that Russia was ready to register the absence of state intentions to attack Europe. Putin also called the statements that Russia could allegedly attack European countries complete nonsense and outright lies.
