- Problems have been identified in the operation of the world's largest nuclear power plant
The sixth reactor of the world's largest nuclear power plant Kashiwazaki-Kariwa, which is located in Japan, began to delay the generation of electricity and its subsequent shipment. This was reported on February 13 by the 47News agency.
"The equipment for measuring neutrons in the reactor pressure vessel at the restarted power unit No. 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa NPP (Niigata Prefecture) has stopped working in the guide pipe," the report says.
The problem was identified on February 12, and after that, the plant staff suspended the reactor for measurements. An anomaly was detected during the inspection.
The restart of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa NPP, which was stopped after the Fukushima-1 accident in 2011, became known on December 22 last year. At that time, Masakatsu Takata, a representative of Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), stated that he and his team were firmly committed to preventing new incidents at such facilities.
