An athlete from Slovenia has won Olympic gold in ski jumping.

Slovenian athlete Domen Prevc won the gold medal in the ski jumping competition at the 2026 Olympics. His final score for the sum of two jumps was 301.8 points.

This is the second gold medal for the 26-year-old from Prevce at the Games in Italy, having previously won the mixed team event. He also holds two world championship titles, won in 2025.

The second place was taken by the representative of Japan, Ren Nikaido, with 295 points, and the bronze medal was awarded to Polish jumper Katzper Tomasiak, who scored 291.2 points.

On February 14, the Latvian national team defeated Germany in the second round match of the group stage of the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, ending the meeting with a score of 4:3. As part of the Latvian team, Dans Locmelis scored twice (16th and 29th minutes), and Eduard Tralmax (49th) and Renars Krastenbergs (52nd) also scored.
