Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent congratulations to Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian on the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. This was announced on February 14 in the press service of the Iranian leader.

"In an address to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian president congratulated him on the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution," the press service's website says.

It is noted that in his congratulatory message, Putin stressed that relations between Moscow and Tehran are "friendly and neighborly," and also expressed hope for the regular strengthening of interstate partnership.

He clarified that the Russian Federation supports Iran's efforts to protect its sovereignty and legitimate interests in the current "difficult international situation."

The Russian leader also wished his Iranian counterpart and his people health, success and good luck.

During telephone talks on December 30, 2025, Putin and Pezeshkian, discussing the implementation of joint interstate agreements, stressed the strategic nature of Russian-Iranian relations. At the same time, the heads of state, after exchanging views on topical issues, pointed out the need to continue regular consultations.
