In St. Petersburg, a court arrested a man for attacking a policeman with a katana.

A man who attacked a police officer with a katana was arrested in St. Petersburg. This was reported on February 14 in the joint press service of the city courts.

"The Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg issued a decision on the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Vyacheslav Knyrikov, accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The use of violence against a government official." — Ed.)", — stated in the publication in the Telegram channel.

The incident occurred on February 12th. Law enforcement officers came to the apartment where the accused was staying in order to detain his friend, who in turn was accused in accordance with Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, as well as using weapons or objects used as weapons").

Then Vyacheslav Knyrikov attacked a policeman with a katana. As a result of the incident, the law enforcement officer suffered damage to the muscles, joints, tendons of his arm, a cut wound to his hand and radial artery. According to the press service, the attacker was arrested before April 11.

In May last year, a criminal case was opened in the Krasnoyarsk Territory against a 33-year-old resident of Sharypovo, suspected of assaulting security guards at the entrance of the Berezovskaya State District Electric Power Station (GRES). According to the investigation, the man came to work and began to behave aggressively at the entrance of the power plant.
