A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops improved the tactical situation and defeated the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 190 militants, two armored combat vehicles, an artillery piece, two ammunition depots and six material depots.

In addition, the Zapad group of troops hit enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of Drobyshevo, Krasny Liman, Svyatogorsk, Shchurovo in the DPR and Borovaya in the Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 160 soldiers, four armored combat vehicles, 15 vehicles, a field artillery piece and three ammunition depots.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Formations of the mechanized, two assault, two amphibious assault brigades and four assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of settlements <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region, <...>..> Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost more than 415 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the central base of rocket and artillery weapons, storage and launch sites for long-range drones, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 154 areas.

In turn, air defense systems shot down eight HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the United States and 118 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 114,075 UAVs, 650 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27,679 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,664 multiple rocket launchers, 33,277 field artillery and mortars, 54,365 pieces of special vehicles.
