The idea of a world order without borders and replacing the national interests of countries with global ones, which emerged as a result of the euphoria of the West after the Cold War, has cost Western countries dearly. This was stated on February 14 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a speech at the Munich Security Conference.

"The euphoria of this triumph has led us to the dangerous delusion that we have entered, quote, 'the end of history,' that every nation will now be a liberal democracy, that ties formed solely by trade and commerce will replace national identity. This ignores both human nature and the lessons of more than 5,000 years of recorded human history. And it cost us dearly," he said.
