Kazakh figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov, in an interview with Izvestia on February 14, shared his impressions of winning the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, calling this moment the most unforgettable in his life.
The athlete admitted that the long road to success began with childhood, and he was full of excitement and desire to show everything he had gained over the years of training.
"I've been working towards this for a very long time, starting from childhood. And today I just wanted to enjoy this image and do everything that I have gained over the years. And today I did it. I don't even know how to describe my feelings," Shaidorov said.
The skater also said that the early appearance on the ice in his group turned out to be a plus for him: waiting was exhausting, and he wanted to start the program as soon as possible. The athlete paid special attention to the support of the fans, focusing on the Kazakhstani fans, who were many in the stands.
"It seems to me that I have never seen so many flags of Kazakhstan in my life. It was just an unforgettable, probably the best day of my life," he added.
