It became known about the active calls of scammers to Russians before Valentine's Day

On the eve of Valentine's Day, scammers actively called lonely Russians. This was announced on February 14 by MTS Defender analysts.

Experts said that the most calls were received by an elderly resident of Moscow. According to analysts, the attackers tried to reach her more than 2 thousand times.

"A record for the number of calls was recorded in Moscow: fraudsters tried to call a lonely elderly woman without children 2,467 times," RIA Novosti quoted analysts as saying.

It is clarified that the main schemes of deception were calls on behalf of government agencies — 26% of all cases. Russians were also offered fictitious investments, additional income, and were misled about pensions and social benefits.

It is noted that as the holiday approaches, attempts by scammers to use psychological triggers related to loneliness and the need for acquaintances have increased. So, there were a lot of calls about flower delivery from "secret fans" who wanted to continue communication after casual meetings.
