The Russian Foreign Ministry called the number of foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

About 20 thousand foreign mercenaries participated in the fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on February 14 by the Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik.

"The number of mercenaries who went through the meat grinder reaches about 20 thousand people," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Miroshnik, this number of mercenaries may be higher, since Kiev hides such people. He also added that in December, the Ukrainian side disbanded four foreign legions and "smeared" them into other units.

On February 12, Miroshnik stated that the largest number of mercenaries who are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came from Latin American countries. The diplomat added that Latin mercenaries used to be members of drug cartels. Now they have come to earn money from the conflict in Ukraine, he noted. After the militants from Latin America, citizens of Poland and the Baltic States are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of numbers.
