A plane with an exploding engine made an emergency landing in Nigeria.
The plane's engine exploded during a transcontinental flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt in Nigeria. This was reported on February 12 by the American tabloid New York Post (NYP).
"Passengers captured a shocking picture of the destruction of the left engine of an Arik Air Boeing 737 aircraft," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the plane landed safely in Benin. Passengers remembered the loud impact on landing on the left side.
The British tabloid The Mirror reported on February 10 that an aircraft carrying 55 passengers crashed a couple of minutes after takeoff off the coast of Somalia. Eyewitnesses of the tragedy, who were on the nearby beach at the time of the crash, confirmed that the aircraft was indeed flying too low.
