On February 13, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the United States was hinting to Kiev that it should make concessions in negotiations with Moscow.

"As far as I can see, they (the United States) are giving more signals that Ukraine should compromise, not Russia," he said in an interview with Politico newspaper.

Zelensky noted that the US Congress needs to back up the agreement between Ukraine and Russia with security guarantees in the form of additional funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) or an agreement.

The New York Times newspaper reported on the same day that the administration of US President Donald Trump is increasing pressure on Ukraine for the sake of concessions in favor of Russia. According to the publication, Kiev is trying to find a balance between the desire to meet Washington's expectations and the unwillingness to make unacceptable compromises, including on territorial issues.
