Additional forces were involved in the elimination of the accident at the Shelekhov water pipeline

In Shelekhov, Irkutsk region, additional forces were involved in eliminating the consequences of a major utility accident. Maxim Modin, the mayor of the Shelekhovsky district, announced this in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the brigades will work "until victory." Water pumping and preparation will continue tonight, and major excavation work will begin on the morning of February 14.

Emergency crews have already dismantled the shut-off valves, prepared the site for the installation of a new well, and started installing a new valve. It is planned to install a new well and shut-off valves tomorrow. An optimistic scenario involves running water by the evening of the same day, but complete elimination of the consequences will take more time.

According to the press service of the office of the Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev, with reference to the information of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal, it is planned to eliminate the accident on February 17.

A communal accident occurred on February 12 at the main water pipeline in Shelekhov. The linear rupture on the pipe has reached 1 m, says IA IrkutskMedia. On the morning of February 13, the 1st, 3rd, and 4th microdistricts of the city and part of the village of Baklashi were disconnected from the water supply. In Shelekhov, about 180 houses were left without cold water, in which more than 19 thousand people live, while in Baklash, 724 people were left without cold and hot water, exactly half of whom are children. Four schools and kindergartens were also affected by the shutdown.

An emergency regime has been in effect in Shelekhov and Baklash since February 13. Water transportation has been organized for residents. Work to eliminate the consequences of the communal accident, as well as the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Negligence", continues.
