Ovechkin noted the sincerity of his coach Filippov

Alexander Filippov, the world hockey champion in the USSR national team, was a sincere and kind man. This was announced on February 13 by Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin.

"Alexander Nikolaevich Filippov passed away. My coach is a kind, honest, sincere man, a Dynamo legend, a world champion," Ovechkin wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also added that the death of Alexander Filippov is an irreparable loss.

Filippov's death was announced on the same day by the press service of the Dynamo Moscow hockey club. The defender played for the Moscow "Locomotive" and "Dynamo". In 1975, Filippov, as a member of the USSR national team, won gold at the World and European Championships. After completing his playing career, he worked as a coach in the Dynamo system, and was awarded the title of Honored Coach of Russia.
