Moscow city services eliminate the consequences of bad weather

In Moscow, city services are eliminating the consequences of the snowfall, which was replaced by a sharp thaw. This was announced on Friday, February 13, by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping Peter Biryukov.

According to him, difficult weather conditions will remain in the region until February 20: regular precipitation, temperature fluctuations and the return of frosts are expected. In this regard, the services are working in an enhanced mode and are taking comprehensive measures to eliminate the consequences of bad weather.

He explained that the condition of the road network is constantly monitored, writes "Moscow 24". As the snow falls, continuous mechanized sweeping of roads, sidewalks and yards is carried out, followed by deicing treatment, and such cycles are repeated regularly.

In addition, utilities are cleaning drainage systems, storm drains, and wells to ensure that meltwater is drained away. Crews and equipment are on duty in places of possible flooding. Roofs and facades of buildings are also being cleaned of heavy soaked snow. The work of life support systems is under special control, emergency services and engineering companies are on duty around the clock, the Moscow City News agency reports.
