The United States announced the focus of the "Peace Council" on Gas and its readiness to solve other problems.

The Peace Council, created at the initiative of US President Donald Trump, is currently focused on the Gaza Strip, but is ready to solve other crises. This was announced on Friday, February 13, by the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations (UN) Mike Waltz.

"The Council is completely focused on Gas. I think you will see this already at the meeting next week, however, when creating it and in the founding documents, the team initially laid down flexibility to deal with other problems," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to the American permanent representative to the United Nations, the new organization was initially created to quickly respond to various challenges that may arise before the international community.

Alternative Path: Can Trump's Peace Council replace the UN

The United States has invited Russia to participate in the new organization — the Kremlin is carefully studying the proposal.

The Reuters news agency learned a day earlier that the White House administration plans to present a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip at the first meeting of the "Peace Council" to be held next week, on February 19. On January 22, Trump, taking part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, signed the charter of the "Peace Council" to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. A day earlier, he also announced that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Peace Council. He stressed that the purpose of the organization is to bring together all the influential leaders of the world to jointly discuss global issues.

On February 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced Russia's readiness to assist efforts to consolidate the positions of the leading Palestinian political forces. At the same time, the ministry recalled Moscow's support for the idea of creating an independent Palestinian state that would exist "in peace and security with Israel."
