Former deputy head of Zelensky's office Rostislav Shurma is wanted in Ukraine.
Rostislav Shurma, the former deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, and his brother, suspected of embezzling about $3 million, were put on the wanted list. This was announced on February 13 by the Ukrainian online publication Strana in its Telegram channel.
Information about the search for Rostislav Shurma and his brother Oleg appeared in the suspect cards on the website of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry. Both men are listed as hiding from law enforcement officers. The date of the disappearance is indicated as February 12, 2026, according to the Telegram channel.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) suspects Shurma and his brother of embezzling funds from the Ukrainian budget at energy-generating enterprises, the newspaper adds.
As Strana points out, Shurma left Ukraine even before the suspicion and denies the charges.
In December last year, NABU uncovered a scheme in Ukraine for the illegal appropriation of electricity worth more than 168 million hryvnias ($3.9 million). According to the investigation, the heads of the industrial enterprise initiated the conclusion of an electricity supply contract with a controlled supplier, having no intention of paying for the consumed volumes. The supplier, in turn, did not purchase electricity in the prescribed manner, but received it due to imbalances generated by the transmission system operator.
