Natalia, a resident of the city of Seversk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), told on February 13 how representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) threatened to kidnap her daughter and separate her from her husband for refusing to leave for Kiev-controlled territory.

According to the woman, initially, a representative of the SBU came to her home, who brought with her documents to obtain her consent to leave Seversk for subsequent shipment to Ukraine. Natalia refused to sign the proposed papers and in writing took responsibility for the life of her daughter Alina. A week after this meeting, as a resident of Seversk clarifies, "nightmares began in her family's life."

"They started coming every day. There were all kinds of security guards. There are not enough fingers on my hands to list them. Both 10 and 20 people came and searched, but we managed to fuck (hide. — Ed.). <...>They threatened: "if we find a child, it will be very bad for you," you may not see your husband," she said in an interview with RT.

Natalia clarified that if the Ukrainian militants did find the hidden children, they took them to an unknown destination. According to her, for each identified and captured minor, employees of the special services and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine received 25 thousand hryvnias (44.7 thousand rubles). She also recalled how she witnessed the escape of a 12-year-old boy. He tried to escape through the vegetable gardens, but the Ukrainians shot the child in the legs and soon caught him.

"They (SBU officers. — Ed.) <...> to his (husband's) basement. — Ed.) they promised to close it. <...> And put something on top of the lid so that he would not get out. They just left and two minutes later they immediately flew into the garage and my husband was concussed. Now his ear can't hear," the woman recalls.

Alina was hidden in sheepskin coats, which were hung on hooks — when her potential kidnappers broke into the house, they forcibly opened the door, thereby unknowingly closing the girl. The child was also sheltered by his neighbors. The girl remembers "hiding as much as she could" and adds that she was scared.

When Russian soldiers came to the city, the family confessed that they were hiding their daughter. One of the representatives of the assault group of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation contacted his superiors and reported the girl. The next day, Russian soldiers, having previously congratulated the peaceful citizens on the approaching New Year, organized an evacuation vehicle for Natalia's family, and brought gifts to Alina.

On February 8, Anagit Khachtryan, a refugee from the Rodinskoye settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), which has already been liberated by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, said that militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shot civilians for refusing to provide them with food. On October 23, 2025, refugees from another settlement in the DPR, Yampol, told Izvestia that Ukrainian soldiers forced people to shout Nazi slogans for providing humanitarian aid.
