Singer Joanna Stingray questioned Kurt Cobain's suicide theory
After a detailed review of the case file on the death of American musician Kurt Cobain, it seems that it really could have been murder. Joanna Stingray, an American singer, producer and a key figure in popularizing Soviet rock in the West, told Izvestia on February 13.
"When icons die, no one accepts reality. Everyone comes up with theories. I treated it exactly as a theory, they say, people just think up scenarios. But then I got into the details. Reading the details, I caught myself thinking: maybe there really is something wrong with his death," Stingray said.
According to her, questions are raised about how a person with a huge dose of narcotic substances in his body was able to put his things neatly and then accurately shoot himself in the head.
"There was such a dose in the blood that a person would just pass out completely. He wouldn't have been able to put his things away neatly. And his set of syringes, as far as I understood, was perfectly folded. And this is really doubtful. How can a person under such a dose clean up everything, and then take a gun and shoot," she added.
At the same time, Stingray does not believe that Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love could be a possible killer.
Kurt Cobain's broken guitar sold for $101.5 thousand in April 2025. Cobain smashed a white Fender Stratocaster guitar back in 1992 during a tour. Despite the fact that the musical instrument was restored, Cobain no longer played it.
