VKKS allowed to arrest Adyghe ex-judge Voitlev
The Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) of the Russian Federation has allowed Adam Voitlev, a retired judge of the Shovgenovsky District Court of the Republic of Adygea, to be detained. This was reported on February 13 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
Voitlev was charged with accepting a particularly large bribe. As the representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia noted, his whereabouts are unknown.
According to the investigation, Voitlev, acting as chairman of the court, received a bribe of 2.5 million rubles from the defendant through an intermediary. For a reward, he promised to help with the return of the case to the prosecutor's office and to remove the arrest from the defendant's property.
In November last year, the HCCC reported that the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, had requested that his office be allowed to initiate criminal proceedings against six judges. It was clarified that the list includes Judge Voitlev, Deputy chairman of the Leninsky District Court of Kursk Olga Petrova, retired justice of the peace of judicial district No. 7 of the Nalchik Judicial District of the CBD Mukhamed Tembotov, as well as retired chairman of the Smolnensky District Court of St. Petersburg Valeria Tarasova and judge of the same court Karine Golikova.
