In the Kaluga Region, the illegal activities of one of the managers and an employee of a federal government institution suspected of taking a bribe of 5.5 million rubles were suppressed. This was reported on February 13 by the Department of the Federal Security Service (UFSB) in the region.
According to the agency, officials received money from a representative of a commercial organization for providing advantages in concluding and executing contracts for the maintenance of highways and artificial structures.
"The illegal activity of one of the managers and an employee of a federal government institution was suppressed when receiving a bribe from a representative of a commercial organization for an advantage in concluding contracts," the report says.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
On February 4, in the Novosibirsk Region, law enforcement agencies detained an employee of the Vector State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology, suspected of accepting bribes and embezzling company funds. According to the agency, the defendant received a bribe in the amount of over 4.7 million rubles for conducting research on biological samples in violation of the established procedure in the interests of a commercial organization.
