Russian Railways to launch trains between Zabaikalsky and Manchuria in China
Since March 6, Russian Railways has been launching passenger rail service between Russia and the People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Zabaikalsk—Manchuria route. On February 13, this was reported in the company's press service.
"From Irkutsk and Chita stations from March 6 and March 7, respectively, it will be possible to leave for Manchuria – non–stop cars will depart as part of train No. 328/327 Irkutsk - Zabaikalsk," the company said in a Telegram channel message.
Trains will run in both directions twice a week — on Wednesdays and Sundays. The journey time is about 25 minutes. Ticket sales will open soon and will be available 60 days before departure.
On January 10, Alexander Baryshnikov, head of the regional Department for the development of tourism and resort activities, announced that the authorities of the Altai Territory had developed tourist routes for Chinese citizens who had come to stay in Russia.
On December 4, 2025, the Chinese state-owned Xinhua news agency reported an increased demand among Chinese for flights to Russia. The situation was caused by the cancellation of the visa regime between the Russian Federation and China.
