The US administration will present a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip at the first meeting of the so-called "Peace Council", which will be held on February 19 in Washington. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on February 12.

"The central part of the meeting will be the announcement by [US President Donald] Trump's proposal to create a multibillion—dollar fund for Gaza, which will include monetary contributions from participating council members," the publication clarifies.

In addition to the financial initiative to rebuild infrastructure, the plan includes measures to create an international stabilization force to maintain order in Gaza. It is expected that the meeting will be attended by delegations from at least 20 countries, including heads of State.

The discussion should be an important stage in the implementation of the ceasefire agreements reached after the two-year conflict between Israel and militants in the Gaza Strip.

On January 22, Trump signed the charter of the "Peace Council" in Davos, Switzerland, to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. It was noted that the documents were signed with the participation of representatives of the participating countries. The White House also officially declared the Peace Council an established organization.
