German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius attracted attention at a NATO briefing in Brussels when he unexpectedly interrupted his speech on assistance to Ukraine due to a convulsive cough. This follows from the video broadcast of the event on February 12, posted on the DWS News YouTube channel.

It is clarified that, after promising to support Ukraine, Pistorius suddenly turned away from the audience and began coughing. After that, he returned to the microphone and continued his speech, but added words that caused laughter among those present.

"Germany will make every effort to support you in this. One of the ways we can help. <..> Forgive me, I'm not Joe's (Biden's) older brother. — Ed.). I caught a cold," he said.

After a while, Pistorius continued his speech.

Pistorius said earlier in the day that Germany could supply Kiev with five more PAC-3 missiles if other countries transferred 30 more such complexes to Kiev. In addition, the defense minister added that the Ukrainian side needs to provide at least $60 billion from its allies this year.
