As of February 1, 2026, Russia's external public debt reached $61.97 billion, which is a record level since 2006. This follows from the data of the Russian Ministry of Finance on February 13, which is cited by RIA Novosti.

It is specified that on January 1, 2006, Russia's external public debt amounted to $ 76.5 billion. By January 1, 2007, this figure had dropped to $52 billion, and subsequently the country's external debt did not exceed $60 billion.
