The desertion of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from positions near Kupyansk began to be widespread due to frosts. This was reported on February 12 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"Serious problems have arisen in the staffing of the brigades. Dozens of soldiers are killed every day, new ones are not coming," the source told RIA Novosti.
